We’re celebrating the 5th anniversary of Train Sim World with a brand-new Livery Designer competition!

Join us in celebrating this awesome milestone by getting creative. What has been your Train Sim World highlight of the past 5 years? What do anniversaries mean to you? Put your party hat on, start thinking of an all-new and original idea and get crafting, the theme for this Livery Designer competition is the 5th Anniversary of Train Sim World.

Our last competition saw the first use of Player-state.com for entries and we handed the responsibility of picking the winner back to the community for the first time. We were inundated with entries, and the community’s engagement with voting was fantastic. We would like to thank you all for your amazing entries and votes. It was such a success we are going to continue using the same method, and of course hand you the reins when it comes to picking winners again.

With the 5th Anniversary of Train Sim World fast approaching we wanted to kick off the celebrations with a themed competition. Oh, and reward the winners with something a little special! Up until now, the collectible Train Sim World pin badges have almost exclusively only been available to Dovetail Games staff, and a handful of very lucky people. This is your chance to be one of those lucky people. How you interpret the 5th-anniversary theme is entirely up to you (within the usual rules of course!).

We want to see your artistic creations using the Livery Designer tool. Create a livery of your own design and you could be one of five lucky winners who receive an assortment of collectible Train Sim World pin badges.

To enter and be in with a chance of winning, here’s what you need to do...

Start the Livery Designer in Train Sim World 2 and choose a locomotive or wagon for your canvas. Note you cannot use the DB G6 Diesel Shunter, DB BR 403 ICE 3, or DB BR 406 ICE 3M for this competition.

Use the tool to create your livery. This must be completely original, void of any copyrighted material or anyone else’s intellectual property, it must not be a real-world livery and must, of course, be inoffensive.

Once you’ve completed your design, take a screenshot in-game showing off your new custom creation. You can use Railfan Shots to make capture easy, see a guide on these here.

Once you have created an account and are logged in head to the Train Sim World 2 page and follow us. Near the top of the page, you will see the projects button, follow that and you will find the competition page. When you feel you have the best Shot of your creation hit the create submission button and complete the form, and remember to upload images of your wonderful livery and leave contact details so we can contact you if you are a lucky winner! Player-state.com also supports video entires being uploaded, feel free to include one as part of your submission (we received a very cool one as part of our last competition), but remember to also upload your screenshots. The closing date for entries is 4:00 pm GMT on 16th March 2022.

We are giving the community the difficult task of choosing the best liveries, it's now up to you to decide! To cast your vote, create an account at https://app.player-state.com and once logged in head to the Train Sim World 2 page and follow us. Near the top of the page, you will see the projects button, follow that and you will find the competition page. You will have from 4:00 pm GMT on 16th March 2022 until 4:00 pm GMT on 21st March 2022 to cast your vote.

Winners will be announced on Trainsimworld.com.
