The Train Sim World 6: Free Starter Pack ends soon! If you've yet to upgrade your existing collection, you can do so now on all platforms until 11th November 2025.
What is the Free Starter Pack?
The Train Sim World 6: Free Starter Pack is a free-to-download option allowing existing players to bring their content across to the latest version of the game.
It's also a great way for new players to dive into Train Sim World for the first time!
The Free Starter Pack contains:
- Training Center 'test track' route
- Tutorials for a selection of unbranded trains
- Class 323 EMU
- Class 66 Diesel Locomotive
- NEW SD40-2 Diesel Locomotive
- BR 146 Electric Locomotive
- 8F Steam Locomotive
As well as access to Livery Designer, Scenario Planner, Formation Designer and Creators Club.
It does not contain any of the core routes or locomotives from Train Sim World 6: Standard, Deluxe or Special Editions.

Train Sim World 6 specific features and Settings options:
- Refined Layer Selector, which saves between sessions
- Support for any future implementation of Train Sim World 6 features to back catalogue content
Opportunities to implement features such as Temporary Speed Restrictions on older routes will be reviewed in future.
Being able to purchase current and future Train Sim World 6 Add-on releases - such as:
- WCML: Birmingham-Crewe
- Santa Fe on Cajon Pass
- Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn
- Liberec-Stará Paka
- And more!
Updates to existing TSW Add-ons:
- Sprinter Timetable for Fife Circle Line (Class 158 Add-on required)
- WMR / XC Class 170 improvements
- Manchester Airport Commuter improvements
Plus any future TSW6 Remasters of existing routes, when released, such as Great Western Express.
What happens on 11th November?
From 11th November, the Free Starter Pack will no longer be available.
Players who have already downloaded the Free Starter Pack to upgrade their content or try Train Sim World for the first time, will be able to continue to play their content after this date.
After 11th November, players who wish to upgrade their collection to Train Sim World 6 will have to do so by purchasing Standard, Deluxe or Special Editions.
