This streamlines common functions and removes distracting pop-up menus in driving modes. Simple one click controls reduce the number of button pushes required to do things like open/close doors. This means you can enjoy driving trains in a much more relaxing and intuitive way. For those who prefer the current Train Sim World 2020 controller layout fear not - We have also included the Classic controller scheme. On PC you will also have the usual keyboard and mouse controller option. The choice is yours!

Pre-Drive Information

When loading up a new Timetable Service you will be presented with a useful pre-drive brief. This displays information including locomotive type, overall train weight, train length, starting and finishing destinations. All of this helps you to prepare you for the task ahead. Here you can see what this looks like for starting out on a service with the DB BR 406 ICE 3M.

Pause Screen

Want additional information on your current session? The pause screen has been changed to include more detail across four tabs. The “Overview” includes your current location, time, next stop and route map. The “Schedule” gives you a full breakdown of what you’re required to do, your stops, times and accuracy. “Speed” shows your graph of how you’re performing against the route speed limits. Lastly the “Message Log” keeps all your updates in one place in case you want to check back on an instruction.

Brand New HUD

For Train Sim World 2 we have changed the layout of the HUD to make critical information easy to see at a glance whilst driving. This includes clearly defined reverser direction and throttle, larger gradient display, change to brake gauges to now show percentage level and an amp power meter that shows a clear readout. This combined with useful upgraded icons for onboard safety systems and door status means you have all the information you need for precise control. You can also make the HUD bigger in settings to help with visibility.
Whether you’re running at high-speed in the ICE 3M across Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen, hauling heavy freight on Sand Patch Grade with the AC4400CW or navigating the complexity of rush hour on the Bakerloo Line this upgraded user interface will give you everything you need to master your locomotives.
