TRAIN SIM WORLD 2 ROADMAP 8 FEBRUARY 2022

On the Roadmap this week find out more about the upcoming Swiss route from Rivet Games and plans for upcoming Preservation updates...
S-Bahn Zentralschweiz: Luzern-Sursee
S -Bahn Zentralschweiz: Luzern – Sursee was announced earlier today, you can find more details and first screenshots about this route in our announce article.
Preservation Crew content
In our previous Roadmap we talked about the order in which we organised the Preservation Crew updates and how they were expected to move. We have used community feedback and discussions internally to decide the most likely order you can expect to receive these changes.
We also talked about testing in the previous Roadmap and how this has become an obstacle for the updates releasing. We are pleased to share that progress has been made since the previous Roadmap and the Sand Patch updates and all Peninsula Corridor updates have now been through testing. We are confident we will be able to release them soon.
How does our release process work?
This week we're also going to talk more about our release process and how it applies to both updates as well as Preservation Crew work. Below is the simplified process of what happens from start to finish. We will go into more detail in tonight's stream and what we're doing to grease the cogs in the areas we're experiencing challenges with.
  • Identification: Understand the problem or task
  • Solution: Solve issue or add feature
  • Testing first pass: QA teams test feature
  • Solution: Back to development if the fix failed QA
  • Testing: Solution & testing will repeat until the feature passes QA
  • Cert: Once through QA, a release slot is decided
  • Release: When the update arrives
Tonight we talk to Executive Producer Matt Peddlesden to go into more detail on this process and our plans going forward.
London Commuter timetable
Finally, the team have made significant progress with red signals that have resulted in players being unable to complete services on London Commuter. You can expect to see this improvement with our next update.
These are forthcoming add-ons that are being developed by Dovetail Games. Where details are still being finalised for a release we are including the ID code for it when possible. This will give you a good idea of what to expect. To see what these ID codes mean you can refer to this post.
