TRAIN SIM WORLD 2 ROADMAP 22 FEBRUARY 2022

Creators Club edges ever nearer and Dynamic Billboards are coming to Train Sim World 2
Routes update
Luzern - Sursee, Harlem Line, and Horseshoe Curve are all progressing well, and we hope to show you more of the routes in the coming weeks.
Spirit of Steam is still a while away, but we hope to provide you with another insight into the work we’ve been doing for the project on stream soon.
Creators Club
Creators Club is almost here! In case you missed it you can watch the preview stream here where Matt and JD demonstrate how to use the new tool.
New - Dynamic Billboards
A new addition to the Roadmap this week is Dynamic Billboards. These will be available on the core routes to begin with (Bakerloo Line, Sand Patch Grade and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen).
You will still be able to play with the current billboards should you prefer, however the intention with Dynamic Billboards is to give you the opportunity to have a more realistic experience while you play, with real-life adverts.
The images below are screenshots from the game currently, representing areas of the game you can expect to see the Dynamic Billboards when they are live. The option to turn off Dynamic Billboards will be available should that be how you want to play.

Preservation Crew update
Adam will be joining us on the stream this evening to talk about the work the Preservation Crew have completed, and what the future plans are for the team.
Below are some images showcasing what the team have been working on, and we will be sharing more on the live stream tonight.

Improved PIS at stations and destination displays on the train on Rapid Transit.

Updated shipping containers and populated yards with static wagons on Great Western Express
PlayStation 5 DLC limit update
In the previous Roadmap we talked about the PS5 64GB limit fix. This is ongoing with the team. We mentioned in our previous update that we had revised our approach from the very manual system we initially designed because we found it was very easy to end up in a state with a crashing game or with incorrect Add-Ons loaded.
While it resolved the fundamental issue, it had most certainly made the game more complex to manage in a way that we felt would be significantly more frustrating for players.
The team have reconsidered, and we now have a new approach which is more technically advanced and means that the entire process of enabling and disabling add-ons can now be handled entirely automatically. This means that the way you interact with the sim won’t change and it will dynamically load and unload content as it needs to in order to keep as little loaded as possible without compromising performance.
This new approach is now well into development however as we proceed we are of course finding assumptions throughout the code that all content is always available in memory, and this is the main focus now for the development, going through piece by piece and reworking those areas of the system so that it can discover content dynamically and cache knowledge (load data and save it away to refer to later without having to re-load it) of what is where and then only fully load things when you actually go into the world itself.
It’s unfortunate that the work is taking longer than planned however we want the end result to be much better and it will be no different to use than what you’re already using. We will continue to keep you all posted with updates as the team progress.
The future of the Roadmap
We are still looking into ways we can continue to improve the Roadmap, and we expect to make further changes to the format in the coming weeks.
We'd like to provide you with more in-depth information about the status of ongoing projects, and will be looking to expand the scope of what we cover within both Roadmap articles and streams. Watch this space!
Removed from the Roadmap
Finally, the Train Sim World 2: New Journeys Expansion Pack and the Sand Patch Grade updates have been removed from the Roadmap, because they have now been released.
