Free Update: Fife Circle Levenmouth Rail Link - Out Now!
It's time to circle back to Scotland with the addition of the new Levenmouth Rail Link extension to Rivet Games' Fife Circle Line route Add-on!
Players with Fife Circle Line and Train Sim World 5 will be able to continue their journey for FREE with an additional 5 miles of track leading down to the newly opened Levenmouth Rail Link and Leven station on the Scottish coastline.
This rail link was officially reopened in real life back in June by ScotRail, returning passenger trains to this part of the country for the first time since 1969.
This update also brings some improvements to the rest of the route and the Class 170 'Turbostar' including Train Sim World 5's Conductor Mode.
The headline list of features in this update are:
- 5.5 mile route extension for the new 2024 Levenmouth railway link
- Inclusion of ScotRail's dog mascot, Loki at Leven Station!
- Over 40 new Timetable services on the new branch
- 2 brand-new stations to discover and explore
- 16 additional collectables to find whilst riding the extension
- Fully playable Conductor Mode within timetable services
Train Sim World 4 players with the Fife Circle Line route Add-on will not get the update automatically, but can upgrade to Train Sim World 5 with great value bundles to gain access to the Levenmouth Rail Link update.
As a note, the ScotRail Class 158 Rail Link livery from Skyhook Games will not be releasing alongside this update, and will come out on a future date.
This update also covers the pre-release patch for Just Trains' West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle route Add-on, releasing on 26th November.

If you've not yet ventured to Train Sim World's northernmost route Add-on, the full route including the Levenmouth Rail Link can be purchased now for Train Sim World 5. It's the perfect route Add-on to add to your collection ahead of St Andrew's Day on 30th November.
Steam players can currently get 40% off Fife Circle Line until 26th November.
PlayStation players can also get 40% off Fife Circle Line until 2nd December.
This route, developed by Rivet Games, covers 52 miles of Scottish railway including one of the world's most celebrated engineering icons: The Forth Bridge. Both the Main Line and the Loop Line splitting out from Inverkeithing are featured, providing a circular route and variations of service all stemming from Edinburgh's Waverley Station.
The ScotRail Class 170 works the timetabled services, including those along the Levenmouth Rail Link, adding a more modern DMU to the Train Sim World fleet. The update includes Conductor Mode, allowing players to take on the role of ScotRail Guard, checking passenger tickets and managing operation of the doors throughout the relevant services.
During the development of Fife Circle Line, Rivet Games published a series of vlogs that explained some of the processes used to create the Class 170.
Players with the Edinburgh - Glasgow route Add-on can also operate electric Class 385 EMU services for a short stretch of the route out to Haymarket and addtional railtour services unlock that utilise other Add-ons such as Flying Scotsman and West Cornwall Steam Railtour for players that own them.
