New Narrow-Gauge Route

Once again, Train Sim World introduces Swiss Narrow-Gauge to a route Add-on after the previously released Arosalinie, also by Rivet Games. This picturesque tourist railway from the early 1900s winds its metre-gauge track out from the Italian town of Tirano over some impressive railway infrastructure including the stunning Brusio Viaduct and tunnels carved straight through the mountainous terrain.
The natural landscape is just as eye-catching, with a number of unique elements and assets included in-game to bring the geography of Berninalinie to life. A seasonally frozen lake at Lago Bianco appears depending on the time of year that timetable mode is set in, as does a unique glacier at Alp Grüm some 2091m above sea level, all made more dramatic with the dynamic weather and fog that form part of the Train Sim World 4 experience.
Inquisitive players may also want to take a wander and explore the landscape up close! Alp Grüm features a viewing balcony that can be admired on foot and the Lake at Miralago Station can be walked around too. Completion of the Mastery Challenges will yield something else to admire in the scenery representative of the unique challenge that local farmers encounter when their cattle require medical attention!

The ABe 8/12 Allegra EMU

The record-holding ABe 8/12 Allegra EMU, operated by the Rhaetian Railway or RhB brings modern electric traction to this century-old route. Its dual voltage feature means that players with the Arosalinie route Add-on can switch pantographs and operate it there in Free Roam alongside the Ge 4/4 II. On Berninalinie, the unit tackles both the curves and gradients with ease, whilst doing its best not to disturb the sensitive snow – its inclusion of a whistle, rather than a horn, is to prevent the risk of avalanche!
Audible announcements are also implemented in three languages: English, Italian and German and cycle automatically building on the feature seen in the Edinburgh – Glasgow route Add-on, also by Rivet Games.
Also included in this route Add-on is a selection of additional rolling stock to allow for the running of mixed consists behind the Allegra:
  • RhB ZA Tank Wagon
  • RhB SP-W Timber Wagon
  • EW-1 A and B coaches
The service timetable consists of passenger services running the full length of the route between Tirano and Ospizio Bernina. Along the way, some trains will pick up additional stock such as the Tank or Timber Wagons, making for some unique operations with EMU-hauled freight. There are 49 services in total, with six half-way services from either Tirano or Ospizio Bernina to Poschiavo, where shunting moves can be operated in the morning.
Three BEX (Bernina Express) services form part of the timetable, consisting of a run up and down with a shunting manoeuvre at Tirano. These trains feature the open-air coach from the RhB Anniversary Collection Add-On for players that own it.
Five Scenarios and both new and existing collectibles to find are included to keep players busy along Berninaline and encourage some exploration of this visually impressive route Add-on!
Train Sim World 4: Berninaline: Tirano - Ospizio Bernina route Add-on is available now for €35.99/£29.99/$39.99
