Train Sim World 2 Update!

Important update regarding the release date and Preserved Collection
Over the past weeks we have been listening to your feedback around the announce of Train Sim World 2. The response so far has been extremely helpful, and we cannot wait to get the new game into your hands. It is your feedback, specifically regarding Preserved Collection that has led to today’s announcement.
The existing Train Sim World Add-Ons were originally planned to be ‘preserved’ only, so you could keep your collection with you in Train Sim World 2 without having to swap games. Following your feedback it was clear that you wanted more from this. To that end we will be taking extra time to include additional functionality so that Preserved Collection content can be used in Train Sim World 2 with the Scenario Planner.
What does this mean? You will be able to use your existing Add-Ons alongside Train Sim World 2 content and future Add-Ons when creating new Scenarios. Plan custom Scenarios on routes like East Coastway with your favourite loco, take the DB BR 425 from Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr onto the new Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen route. Or for those feeling rebellious you can go “Off The Rails” and defy the laws of physics and run anything anywhere – If you want to run the LIRR M3 on the Bakerloo Line, we’re not stopping you!
To achieve this we have had to look at both the release date for Train Sim World 2, our working from home schedule during Covid-19 and factored in the additional work required to bring Preserved Collection Add-Ons into Train Sim World 2.
The decision has been made to move the release date of Train Sim World 2 to 20 August 2020. The first phase of Preserved Collection Add-Ons will release alongside the game with more to come in following months. There will be no change to pricing and your existing Add-Ons will still be free to download in Train Sim World 2 as they become available. Your collection comes with you.
Here’s what you can look forward to in the first two Preserved Collection phases…
Preserved Collection 1 (20 August)
  • East Coastway: Brighton - Eastbourne & Seaford
  • Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco - San Jose
  • Caltrain MP36PH-3C ‘Baby Bullet’
  • Caltrain MP15DC Diesel Switcher
  • Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr: Duisburg – Bochum
Preserved Collection 2 (September)
  • Tees Valley Line: Darlington – Saltburn-by-the-Sea
  • BR Class 31
  • BR Class 20 ‘Chopper’
  • Long Island Rail Road: New York – Hicksville
  • Ruhr-Sieg Nord: Hagen – Finnentrop
  • DB BR 155
The remaining Preserved Collection content schedule will be confirmed when we launch Train Sim World 2.
So, this is just the beginning for the Preserved Collection and we can’t wait to see what you do with the new Scenario Planner. In the meantime, we know you want to see more. We will be continuing to provide weekly updates and screenshots in the run up to launch. Our next Train Sim World 2 Stream with Community Q&A on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen runs TODAY and includes a first look at the Scenario Planner! Watch live on Twitch and YouTube at 8PM BST / 9PM CEST.
