Sand Patch Grade: as seen by Roger Puta

This article contains photographs of real-world locomotives and locations not representative of in-game content.
Roger Puta (1944-1990) was a legendary US railfan who took an extraordinary number of railfan shots from all over the USA. Unsurprisingly, this included iconic railroad routes and locations, including Sand Patch Grade. Roger photographed trains here during the summer of 1969, allowing us to see a snapshot of the history of this line, which was completed in mid 19th century. Today the route sees CSX action along with the occasional Amtrak service in the 'Capitol Limited'.
Though these images are in the public domain, courtesy of Mel Finzer, use is under the condition that they are correctly attributed to him and in each caption, we have linked to the source, which is Marty Bernard's Flickr account.
If you're interested in getting the most out of Sand Patch Grade, we have a sale on both the CSX C40-8X, and the New Journeys Expansion, both with 40% off (as well as more), with the June Gala sale!
