Great Western Express Remastered - Launch Trailer
Revisit Train Sim World’s first ever UK route with the Great Western Express Remaster, experiencing the route like you’ve never seen it before, with new and improved scenery, modern TSW features, train upgrades & more.
Here's what you can expect to land with the update, live now on all platforms:
New Timetables
- New 2017 Timetable (4,674 services & 1,335 playable). Layers up to 23 UK Add-ons to cerate the second-largest Uk timetable in TSW.
- Full London Underground Timetable. All Circle and Hammersmith & City line services playable using a Class 484.
- Full Heathrow Connect Timetable using a Class 350 in a Heathrow Connect inspired livery to represent the Class 360
- Riviera Line GWR Class 802 test service
- Central Line AI using the 1972 Stock (London - Milton Keynes)
- CrossCountry AI using the Class 220 Voyager
- London Overground Mildmay line AI traffic
- Additional freight, including services from Cargo Lines 1 & 2, railtour traffic & more!
Remastered Updates
- Full lighting overhaul
- Route scenery and texture overhaul
- 2 new stations with full London Underground branding; Royal Oak Station and Westbourne Park.
- New London Underground platforms at Ealing Broadway
- Massive audio upgrade, including brand-new rail singing sounds
- All GWE and Diesel Legends stock upgraded (New wheel blur, guard mode, suspension, reworked lighting/weather vfx).

Additional Class 805 Updates
Alongside the GWE Remaster update, we will additionally have changes from the All Aboard Studios team that fixes a few key issues with timetable services, and also removes various layers on Xbox platforms that are causing the systems to run out of memory and causing crashing. These reductions do not impact any other game platform.
The ABS team are continuing to investigate ways to help support performance, and these changes should allow Xbox players to experience the Class 805 without crashing at a frequent rate.
Avanti West Coast Class 805 Updates
- Fixed an issue causing various WCML South timetable services to spawn players on foot instead of inside the train
- Fixed an issue causing the Avanti logo to display incorrectly in direct light
- Fixed an issue causing constant Driver Assist pop-up messages
- Fixed an issue where the safety isolation light comes back incorrectly
- Fixed an issue with incorrect onboard PIS text
Xbox Platform Layer Reductions
- Removed Freight layers from scenarios on Xbox to prevent 'Out of Memory' crashing
- Removed Intermodal and HKA layers on Xbox to prevent 'Out of Memory' crashing
- Removed AI Class 390s at Euston on the 'Bound for Edinburgh' scenario to prevent 'Out of Memory' crashing
- Removed static layers on Xbox to support greater performance
Please let us know if you are continuing to experience issues with crashes and performance following this update in our Class 805 Feedback Thread.
Known Issue for PS4 Players
As our testing has concluded for the GWE Remaster, we want to let players on PS4 platforms aware of an issue we've encountered causing trains to derail after starting some specific services, that we were unfortunately unable to resolve ahead of our planned launch.
Currently, we've found this impacts two services: 4E03 and 4L58, with the derailment occuring after you depart from Reading. We apologise for this remaining in the builds, and we're working on a post-release patch for this issue.
We hope you are still able to enjoy the remastered improvements, and we ask that if you find other areas of derailment, or any feedback for our team to be aware of, please share them in our GWE Remaster Feedback Thread. Thank you!
Gen-8 Layer Reductions
Players on gen-8 platforms (PS4/Xbox One) will see reductions to the 2017 timetable layers, to help maintain a healthy performance and smooth experience on these platforms. Please find all the details below, including the total services that you can expect to find.
Gen-8 GWE Remastered 2017 Timetable
- 2,340 total services 942 playable (Overall, a 50% reduction in total services, and a 29% reduction in playable services).
Layers included:
- Cargo Line Vol. 2 – Aggregates
- Island Line 2022: BR Class 484
- GWR HST Farewell Pack (Coming soon - added once it releases)
To confirm, these reductions will only affect players on PS4 and Xbox One platforms and will help maintain a healthy performance and smooth experience on these platforms.
We hope players on PS4/Xbox One are still able to enjoy the new remaster, as well as the updated environment and scenery improvements, and we ask for any feedback on your experience.
