TS18: The Portsmouth Direct Line – OUT NOW!
The full Portsmouth Direct Line, which stretches 70 miles from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, has arrived for Train Simulator – complete with authentic South West Trains traction.
New Ground to Explore
Previously the Portsmouth Direct experience terminated at Woking, however, you can now traverse the bustling section and ride the full route into London Waterloo! Tracks build up from all angles as routes culminate into a thrilling run into the capital, such as the likes from Hampton Court branch, which is also included.
A Classic Line Reimagined
The existing 50 miles from Woking to Portsmouth Harbour has been given a substantial facelift, offering a full “capital to coast” experience befitting of modern Train Simulator standards, will rolling hills, detailed stations and scenic Hampshire towns.
A Trio of Experiences
Take to the rails on the semi-fast expresses between London Waterloo and Portsmouth, or pick up the locals on the equivalent stopping services; but perhaps demanding the most attention, heading suburban commuter services during the morning and evening peak, linking London workers to their terminus right on time.
A Trifecta of Traction
It’s a South West Trains festival! From the collaborative efforts of Master Key Simulations and MeshTools, the BR Class 450 and BR Class 444 have been given a new lease of life and tons of extra detail, including a brand new cab, bespoke passenger views and revised physics to provide the ultimate modern Portsmouth Direct experience. Also included is a BR Class 455/8 to fulfil the bustling commuter lines between Woking and the capital.
Britain’s Busiest Stations
London Waterloo is not only the UK’s largest station, it also sees the most passenger numbers every year – a staggering 99.4 Million people used it last year alone. These passengers come from all around the south west, including from Portsmouth, however a few miles away lies Clapham Junction station, which is the country’s busiest in terms of interchanges and sheer traffic, some 100 to 180 trains per hour! To bring Clapham (and Portsmouth) to life, a Southern BR Class 377 is also included.
