Fishing Sim World: FAQ

We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to look over if you have any basic queries about our new simulation. Please read these first, if you have any further queries, please feel free to submit a ticket to us on Kayako.

Fishing Sim World is the latest simulation in the Dovetail Games catalog. It is the most authentic fishing simulator ever made, taking you on an angling journey across Bass, Carp and Predator fishing.

Fishing Sim World will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

PlayStation 4: The game will be available to purchase and download by searching ‘Fishing Sim World’ through the Store via your PlayStation 4 console.

Xbox One: The game will be available to purchase and download by searching ‘Fishing Sim World’ through the Store via your Xbox One console.

PC: Fishing Sim World will be available to purchase and download via Steam and the Dovetail Store (Dovetail Store purchases will provide you with a key to redeem on Steam).

Yes, there will be a boxed version of Fishing Sim World available at most major video game retailers.

Fishing Sim World is not supported on multiple monitors on any format.

While some laptops will play Fishing Sim World, performance may be negatively impacted, please note that laptop chipsets are not officially supported. Please see minimum specifications above.

Unfortunately, Fishing Sim World does not include an SDK or modding support at this time, however we hope to bring this to you as soon as possible.

Fishing Sim World is currently available to purchase in North America and Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Fishing Sim World is rated PEGI – 3 (PEGI – 4 in Portugal), ESRB – E (Everyone) and USK – Approved without age restriction

Fishing Sim world currently supports English (EN), German (DE), French (FR), Russian (RU), Polish (PL), Mexican/Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

An internet connection is required to initially purchase and download digital copies of the game. Once the download is complete, no further internet connection is required to experience Fishing Sim World single player, unless you are looking to try your hand at our Multiplayer or Live Tournament game modes, in which case one is required.

Fishing Sim World currently features seven beautiful locations for you to enjoy as well as a tackle shop packed with a variety of fishing accessories, which can be purchased using the in game currency – tackle points. Tackle points can be earnt across all of the available game modes.

There are seven tutorials that can help you with the basics of Bass, Predator and Carp fishing.

We don’t have anything to announce on that – right now it’s all about Fishing Sim World!

At the beginning of a fishing session you will be able to select a tacklebox, time of day and weather settings. Once you are in the session you will be able to change your tacklebox but not the time of day or the weather.

We are currently striving to ensure that the experiences on both platforms are as similar as possible. Currently, the biggest difference is that multiplayer supports four players on console but supports eight on PC. Any updates will be released across all platforms though dates of availability may vary.

Unfortunately, game data cannot be carried across both platforms. All save data on the PC version and all save data on the consoles are completely separate. If you own Fishing Sim World on PC and purchase it on console (or vice-versa), no character save data or progress will carry over.

Unfortunately, Fishing Sim World does not support cross platform play.
