Quality of Life Patch v0.3.1 Has Arrived!

Improvements and Changes and Fixes, Oh My!

Hey everyone, hope you’re all taking care of yourselves.
It’s been a long time coming but we’re happy to be able to share with you all the latest Quality of Life update for CTS:Tram which addresses the most pressing and important issues reported to us by our community.
We also want to thank every one of you for sticking with us while we work on rolling out these patches.
This update introduces several enhancements, such as improved stability to reduce crashes, and refined AI behaviour for smoother tram operations. We’ve also tweaked passenger behaviour with randomised spawn numbers at each station to add variety.
We’ve also incorporated ambient sounds, including adaptive passenger sounds that adjust to the tram’s current passenger count creating a more immersive experience.
Now without further ado, please check out the full list of changes below:
  • Improved stability, preventing crashes
  • Fixed various issues with collision and visuals
  • “Signal ignored” & “Signal respected” should now work as intended
  • All signals work as intended and are respected by all vehicles
  • All switches now work correctly & can be changed automatically and manually (via the switch iron)
  • AI trams will now drive their correct route
  • AI trams won’t drive through player trams anymore
  • AI trams will now only wait for their departure time at the first stop
  • AI trams will now correctly stop at all tram stations in their line
  • AI trams will now let passengers (dis-)embark the tram
  • AI trams will now respect signals
  • Improved spawning of AI vehicles & passengers
  • Passengers can take tighter turns and have a bigger range of random walking speeds
  • Passengers should now avoid static objects
  • Increased taxi variant spawning rates
  • Added AI car density setting in “Graphics Settings”
  • Add AI passenger density setting in “Graphics Settings”
  • Collisions with other vehicles/pedestrians are now based on mesh collisions instead of obstacle spheres (players can get closer to AI vehicles before getting the collision pop-up)
  • The number of passengers in AI cars is now randomized
  • Passengers shouldn’t walk across red lights anymore
  • Green Markers should appear correctly at all tram stops
  • Green Markers can be turned off in the “Gameplay & HUD” settings
  • Prevent player from standing up while tram is moving
  • Perfect Stop Distance was changed from 25cm to 50cm (easier to get a Perfect Stop now)
  • The Distance to the next tram stop is now shown correctly in the HUD
  • Added Ambient Siren Sounds
  • Added ambient car honk sounds
  • Added ambient passenger sounds inside the tram based on how many passengers are in the tram
  • All tram stops appear correctly
  • All tram stops have the correct name on their shelter & info board
  • The “TRAM” graphic on the info boards was changed from green to red
  • The density of AI passengers has been randomized across all stops of a line
  • Default switch directions in the tutorial area were changed to fit the tutorial instructions
  • Added German translation for StadtRegioTram collectible
  • Added all translations for AI vehicle density setting & description
  • Added all translations for AI passenger density setting & description
  • Added all translations for Stop Marker setting & description
  • Added all translations for tutorial pop-up when finishing the last trip of the day.
