April 12th - B.A.S.S.® & Scott Martin

Let’s talk about who Scott Martin is, and what exactly B.A.S.S is. In 1969, Ray Scott made competitive fishing a reality by forming the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (which conveniently, spells B.A.S.S.)

Scott Martin is a professional Bass angler from Florida who joined the B.A.S.S. ® tour in 2020 with his sights set firmly on fulfilling his family legacy of winning the Bassmaster Classic ®. Scott Martin has also been working closely with the team here at Dovetail Games to bring players a truly competitive bass fishing game!

May 4th - Lake Hamilton

On May 4th we shared the first, pre-alpha shots of the first real world venue players will be fishing in Bassmaster® Fishing 2022 – Lake Hamilton. But we shared more than just that! We also talked about dynamic time of day, a brand-new feature that will give players the ability to fish from sunrise to sunset!

On May 19th we announced our partnership with Falcon Boats and the addition of the legendary F20 Predator to Bassmaster® Fishing 2022. Vincent Turner, one of our 3D artists broke down the important steps in the process of creating these stunning boats in game.

May 24th - Toledo Bend

It’s May 24th, and we’re taking a look at our second real world venue, Toledo Bend. Toledo Bend is a stunning reservoir on the Sabine River straddling Texas and Louisiana. Impressively, it’s also the largest man-made body of water in the Southern USA. We also reveal the species of fish you’ll be catching on Toledo Bend.

May 28th was a busy day! Our BTS Ep2 goes live and we revealed new details about Bassmaster® Fishing 2022 – including playing as pro-anglers, 8 real-world venues and how we made them in game, dynamic time of day, new gear…LOTS of gear. Plus, the addition of a toggleable underwater camera and a new game mechanic, snagging!

We also launched a Dovetail Games first in the shape of our Closed Alpha, inviting players to register their interest to not only be the first people in the world to see and play the game but to offer thoughts and feedback to help shape the finished game!

June 24th, we had a first proper look at the 8 real-world venues at launch in the video above. We also took a deep dive into the stunning and varied waters of the Sabine River, including all the species you’ll be catching.
